Are you referring to Vandervorste and Van Hull (?)

If so, Steve Vandervorste is the son of the late Dick Vandervorste.... Jake Van Hull is son of John (Butch) Van Hull.

What spot? If it was '88 it must have been after Anderson.

I guess I must be talking about Butch Van Hull, he has the Zyclon with Tim Magid/Carole Stream, yes?

The Van Hull's bought the Zyklon from Magid/Carol Stream around 1993 or 1994. Last I knew they were still touring but I don't know where. Magid bought another, smaller Zyklon in 1997 that he had out on his own show and occasionally booked with Strates thru the 2003 season. Strates bought that Zyklon around 2008 and still uses it. It'll be in Hamburg along with A of A's Crazy Mouse.

Butch could move that Zyclon, glad he ended up with it.

What happened to the Zyclon with the gold track and red jack-stands (I think it was Guy Sears') that booked with Strates a few times back in the '80s?

That was a good looking operation.

Yes, as Bill P said Strates got his in 88, that was the last one built, loaded with turbo lights it looked sharp back then.

Not for sure if that is the one that Kissel got, but I think I did hear that.

I don't know all the details on the rust concern, but my personal opinion is that they (Kissel) can go back and fix it up. They have had a Diver for a while so I guess it makes money for them, at least I hope they will continue to use it.

Not very many of those classics left, Powers and Thomas junked theirs after the tornado and doesn't like they are interested in getting another one. PGAM has theirs up for sale last I heard, I think someone has one up in the northeast, isn't it Smokey's Greater Shows? Don't believe J&J is using theirs anymore either, but could be wrong.

Thanks Bill P.
The tub load is just like what Strates built for their Diver. An open air 28 foot pup trailer. Someone on the Forgotten Carnival Rides site mentioned and pointed out the open air 28 foot pup tub load as evidence to it being Strates.

Majestic Midways also has a Sky Diver, though I see it up for sale on Rides4U.

Seems I remember it in Anderson in 88, course the way my memory is could have been 89, but I do know it was the last model built in 88.

Interesting note if you didn't know, Strates first used that open pup trailer for the Flying Bobs tub load before they got rid of it (or one like it).

I played Anderson in '88, it was my last spot. I could be wrong, but a new ride was a big deal and I just don't remember it.

The Bobs States got from Floyd and Baxter was on three loads and came with that short tub-wagon and a furniture van. When he got the new bobs (in '80?) I think he bought it without the tub load and used the old trailers.

I moved the old diver a few times, so I should remember the tub-load but I don't. I really liked moving the diver.

I remember Atlas' diver tub-load, it had a 671 Detroit plant in the front and it was hot and so f'n LOUD...
